Athens, GA – One Injured in Car Crash at E Campus Rd & Cedar St

Athens, GA (September 2, 2021) – At 5:20 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, August 31, a car crash occurred at an intersection in Athens.

According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of East Campus Road and Cedar Street. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the drivers involved in the crash was injured in the accident. The injured party was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
