Covington, GA – Head-on Collision at GA-36 & Flat Shoals Rd

Covington, GA (November 16, 2021) – At 3:07 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 16, a head-on collision occurred at an intersection in Covington.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-36 and Flat Shoals Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding head-on into one another. The vehicles sustained severe front-end damages and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police urged those in the area to use Salem Road as an alternate route.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
