Marietta, GA – Motorcycle Accident on Austell Rd at Co Pkwy Leaves Man Dead
Marietta, GA (October 23, 2021) – Around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, October 20, a Marietta motorcyclist died in an accident near Osborne High School.
According to reports from police, the 24-year-old man was driving his black 2013 Honda CBR600 motorcycle southbound on Austell Road. At that time, a beige 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 hauling a black dump trailer was turning left from the northbound side of Austell Road onto County Services Parkway.
The Dodge turned in front of the man on the motorcycle, ejecting him from his bike and throwing him into the hauled trailer.
EMS attempted life-saving measures but pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, a 53-year-old man, did not sustain injuries.
Police are still investigating the collision and have asked anyone with additional information to call investigators.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
