Marietta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-75 Near Delk Rd
Marietta, GA (September 15, 2021) – At 3:47 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, September 15, a multi-vehicle collision occurred in Marietta.
According to Marietta officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 around the area of exit 261, Delk Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, numerous lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 41 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
