Woodstock, GA – Head-on Collision with Serious Injuries on I-575
Woodstock, GA (March 18, 2023) – A head-on crash with serious injured took place on a highway in Woodstock on the evening of Saturday, March 18.
According to Cherokee County officials, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on I-575 around the area of mile marker 19. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when one entered the opposite lane of traffic, causing them to collide with one another in a severe head-on crash. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and debris was strewn across the highway in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Multiple victims sustained serious injuries in the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic in the area for some time after the collision. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.
